Noblesville, Indiana, often overshadowed by its proximity to Indianapolis, is worth a visit on its own merits. From the Klipsch Music Center to Nickel Plate Arts to the small boutiques and antique shops, there’s something special about this hip small town. Here’s why it should be on your must-visit list.
Start your day off right with breakfast at Rosie’s Place
Order a Classic Eggs Benny at Rosie’s Place, or ask for the farm-style version, which features a biscuit base and sausage gravy.
Located on the historic Courthouse Square, Rosie’s has been a breakfast institution since 2010. Its seasonal menu has a little bit of everything, with breakfast served all day long. They have the classics like giant pancakes and eggs Benedict, plus several gluten-free dishes like huevos rancheros and breakfast tacos. Don’t forget to check out the daily specials for twists on breakfast favorites, like avocado toast and watermelon-lime mimosas. Pro tip: Take an Instagram-worthy shot of the circa-1879 Hamilton County Courthouse after you dine.
Shop local and discover unique treasures
Explore Noblesville’s vibrant arts community and independent shops to look for specialty gifts for friends and family, or maybe just a little something for yourself. The Nickel Plate Arts campus is a great place to start. They have a gallery with rotating exhibits and a studio for local artists to work and sell their art. The organization offers classes and special events as well. If you find yourself there on the first Friday of the month, you can also enjoy some live music while you shop.
Additionally, the Noblesville Antique Mall, featuring three floors of antiques, is the perfect place to wander through the ages looking for treasures. For free-spirited fashions, stop by the Little Gypsie to hunt for handmade jewelry, accessories and funky threads. Once you’ve given your wallet a workout, take an ice cream break at Alexander’s on the Square. With more than 30 flavors available daily—plus malts, sundaes, shakes and sodas—it’s way too easy to find a sweet treat to enjoy.
Walk with nature at Potter's Bridge Park
Stroll on foot or coast by bike through 66 acres (you don’t have to do them all) of trails in Potter’s Bridge Park. This wooded area features the last remaining covered bridge in Hamilton County. For the best view, head inside the bridge to view the flowing White River from one of the windows.
Raise a glass at Barley Island Brewing Company
When you work up a thirst, head back to downtown for a pint at the award-winning Barley Island Brewing Company. Their flagship brown ale, Dirty Helen, is named after a famous barkeep from Noblesville who didn’t hesitate to put pushy regulars in their place. This beer won the gold at the Great American Beer Festival in 2009, and continues to convert beer lovers from all over. If you’re hungry, you can also try the classic pork tenderloin.
Ride off into the sunset
K-Trails Equestrian Adventures leads guided rides for all skill levels through Noblesville’s countryside.
