OK Option in Gardiner / North Yellowstone
This hotel offers a lot of nice touches that go along with a Yellowstone vacation (i.e. firepits with smores, refillable water bottle gift at check in, hiking poles, binoculars, etc.). The bed was also clean and comfortable in my room.
At check-in I was advised that gnats are hatching right now and to minimize ingress and egress thru the door and to keep my windows closed. This is understandable for a hotel located directly on a river. However, I could see daylight thru the gaps around my room door and the wooden window frames were rotting. Me entering and exiting was not the reason there were gnats (of which I killed plenty) in my room. The room had a layer of dust on most surfaces. Also, Choice's website advertised a $5 service fee. This ended up being a $15 Vegas-style resort fee.
Overall, Ascend Ridgeline was not a terrible experience, but for the cost it left a lot to be desired.
