Show up in person.
The front desk sometimes have to be flexible. I was so furious that I was required to show up with my credit card in order for my guest to check in. I tried to explain to the front desk people and manager that I'm so busy in my office that I cannot drive and show up to the hotel. Anyway, the room is paid and I'm trying to convince the front desk person to let my guest check in and let him rest which he needed after a long trip work hours but to no avail. It's horrible.
