Taihe Gate(太和門) is the largest palace gate in the Forbidden City and the main gate of the outer palace. Taihe Gate was built in the eighteenth year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty.A pair of bronze lions and four bronze tripods are in front of Taihe Gate, cast in the Ming Dynasty. In the Ming Dynasty, Taihemen was the place where "the imperial gate listened to the government", where the emperor accepted the adoration and memorials of his ministers, issued edicts, and dealt with political affairs.
