You’ll find plenty of fun and exciting things to do on the Sunshine Coast. Whether you’re chilling on the beach, spotting whales off the coast, or indulging in the diverse dining options nearby, Bokarina promises a memorable Sunshine Coast experience.

Coastal Pathway

Start your day with a walk, jog or bike ride along the scenic Sunshine Coast Coastal Pathway. Stretching for 73 kms from Bells Creek in the south to Coolum in the north, the Coastal Pathway is one of the top Sunshine Coast activities. With breathtaking ocean views, the pathway meanders through coastal vegetation, sand dunes and parkland. The Bokarina section is perfect for a peaceful morning beachside stroll or an energetic workout, with plenty of spots to stop and take in the stunning scenery or cool off with a dip.

Bokarina Beach

Soak up the warmth of the Queensland sun on beautiful Bokarina Beach. The seasonally patrolled surf beach is dog-friendly and relatively quiet compared to some of the more famous Sunshine Coast spots, making it the perfect place to unwind. Affectionately known to locals as ‘Bok Beach’, surf seekers will also find good waves to catch here, especially early morning.

Bokarina Boulevard Park

Nearby, the kids will love Bokarina Boulevard Park, an excellent beach-side playground with adventurous play equipment for different age groups, open green spaces and shaded picnic areas. It's a great spot for a relaxed afternoon with the kids or a casual picnic with friends. Let the kids run free on the climbing walls, slides and swings, and then head to the nearby beach afterwards for a swim.

Whale watching

From June to November, Bokarina is also a fantastic spot for whale watching as humpback whales migrate along the coast on their annual migration north. The Coastal Pathway and Bokarina Beach both offer excellent vantage points where you can witness these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. Aim for early morning and late afternoon, when the whales are often more active.

Point Cartwright

Another great spot for whale watching is Point Cartwright, a spectacular coastal headland with panoramic views of the coastline and the Glass House Mountains. A short drive north from Bokarina, the lookout is ideal for spotting dolphins playing in the surf or whales breaching during migration season, while the rockpools below will keep the kids entertained for hours. Enjoy an ocean-view picnic on the grassy slopes and watch the surf roll in around the point.

Helicopter Pub Crawl

Embrace your inner rockstar on a helicopter pub crawl. You’ll arrive in style at a select range of pubs and wineries along the Sunshine Coast, alighting at each stop from your own personal helicopter. It makes for a unique adventure and an exhilarating way to see the region while enjoying some cold local brews and meeting friendly, laid-back people. Choose from a half-day to full-day experience, and take in the spectacular Sunshine Coast scenery along the way.
