Corporate Social Responsibility

At Choice brand hotels across the globe, we work hard to make every guest feel welcome, wanted and respected, but we also believe that this spirit should be alive in the communities where we work and live. It’s not just a way of doing business; it’s at the core of who we are. Our associates and the employees of our more than 7,000 franchised hotels around the world embody a commitment to giving back and embracing their local communities through a range of initiatives.

Annual Fundraising Week

Every year, in both Australia and New Zealand, our franchisees support a charitable cause via a fundraising week. During this week, $2 from every room night, from every Choice hotel, goes towards the nominated cause. Our charity partners are The Reach Foundation (AU) whose work helps develop confident, self-aware and passionate young people, and Cystic Fibrosis New Zealand (NZ), who work to help those living with Cystic Fibrosis, and their families.

The Reach Foundation

The Reach Foundation is 100% youth-led organisation, who run workshops for young people in schools & the community. They help 40,000 young people every year, through connection, uncovering what’s holding them back, and equipping them with skills to navigate life’s challenges. The Reach Foundation exists to create generations of confident, self-aware, passionate young people, helping the world to be a better place.

Choice Hotel’s support of the Reach Foundation is focused on fundraising to assist in the training and upskilling of the Reach Crew, who are responsible for designing and running the various workshops and events. Choice Hotels also engages with The Reach Foundation through their annual ‘Thousand Faces Camp’, which is an opportunity for adults and young people from all walks of life to connect and learn across a life-changing weekend. Choice Hotel’s also supports The Reach Foundation via various charity events, as the provision of accommodation for Reach Crew and Staff to facilitate workshops.

Cystic Fibrosis New Zealand

Cystic Fibrosis is the most common life threatening genetic disorder affecting New Zealand children. The condition affects several organs, especially the lungs and pancreas, by clogging them with mucus. It can cause shortness of breath, a chronic cough and repeated chest infections. The average life expectancy for those with Cystic Fibrosis is significantly lower than the general population. Every dollar raised by Choice Hotels Asia-Pac and CFNZ during Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Week goes directly to supporting New Zealanders living with CF.

Human Rights Policy

We strive to conduct our business operations free from violations of human rights. Our Human Rights policy condemns human trafficking and child exploitation, and commits to raising awareness of this issue among the owners and staff of our franchised hotels.

Cage-Free Eggs

Choice is committed to provide the hotels in our system with suppliers of cage-free eggs, in order to source 100% of the eggs used (shell, liquid and egg products) from cage-free sources globally by 2025. We will publicly report on progress annually and translate this policy into key native languages.
