Upon check-in I requested a late check out and specified that I would need to stay until 2pm due to a zoom meeting and the necessity of the WiFi. I was not told that late check out is 12 noon at any time and was told that 2pm would be fine. Today was check out and at 12:30pm housekeeping knocked on my door and preceded to enter despite having not checked out and having do not disturb on the door. I was in the middle of my zoom meeting and had to step away abruptly to meet them as I had the safety lock engaged. I explained that I had late check out and was in a meeting. I apologized, closed the door and went back to my computer. As soon as I sat down, my in-room phone began to ring. I once again stepped away from my meeting to answer and the woman was quite rude about my still being in the room. She aggressively told me that late check out is noon. I apologized and quickly explained that I had to get back to my meeting but was told I could stay and check out no later than 2pm. Minutes later my WiFi access was terminated and I was booted from my zoom meeting. Thank goodness I had the ability to access a hotspot on a very temporary basis or I would have not been able to return to my meeting. As soon as my meeting ended, I gathered my things and preceded to vacate the room. By 1:40pm, I was at the front desk to return my room keys and I apologized but again explained that I was given explicit permission to stay until 2pm. The exchange with the woman at the front desk was not pleasant and I was treated disrespectfully in the process. Additionally the property is very dirty. The corners of rooms are dusty and dirty, the carpets were not vacuumed well as I had a feather stuck to the bottom of my foot shortly after arriving in the room. The elevator walls are covered in mud. Outside at the smoking area, the ground is littered with cigarette butts as well as just outside the side entrance. The walls in my room had smeared dirt spots. I was pleasantly surprised that the tub and shower walls were clean. It is highly unlikely that I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I guess with the rate of $57 per night without taxes and fees, you get what you pay for.
