Many of the Fort Worth's class museums offer free or discounted admission. Start at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, which houses a stunning collection of 19th and 20th century paintings, sculptures and more. At the Kimbell Art Museum, you can view all the incredible works dating from antiquity to the Renaissance. Next, check out the Sid Richardson Museum, featuring permanent and special exhibitions of Western art. All three of these museums offer free admission daily. Finally, head over to the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and enjoy free admission on the first Sunday of every month, and half-price every Wednesday.

Explore the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, the oldest garden of its kind in Texas and home to more than 2,500 species of unique, exotic plants. Admission is just $2 for adults, $1 for seniors and kids, and free for under 4. Next, take a hike along more than 20 miles of trails at the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for the little ones. And finally, plan a visit the Fort Worth Zoo, one of the best in the country and home to over 500 species of animal. Admission is half-price on Wednesdays!

 Just north of downtown is Fort Worth's Stockyards National Historic District. While there, explore the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame and its vast collection of historic wagons for just $5 admission. Don't miss The Herd, the world's only twice daily cattle drive, held everyday at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Finally, take a trip to the the Bureau of Engraving and Printing's Western Currency Facility to see the printing of billions of U.S. dollars on a free 45-minute guided tour.
