We have stayed here twice, hoping that the first time was a one off. This visit, we have decided this hotel is not the best fit for us. Perhaps all Choice Hotels in the Sandusky area are not good fits. The bed sheets had stains. The hallways smelled strongly of marijuana. There was not a fridge/microwave. The halls are not vacuumed as the same crumbs were seen every day. Breakfast was okay with very little protein. The ants in our room was unacceptable. A half finished coffee was left on the side stand. Yes, we should have dumped it, but the amount of ants were overwhelming. They were in the cup, in the beds, all over the side stand. It was our last night and near midnight, so we killed them, removed the offending coffee cup and tried to sleep only to be woken by a fire alarm (car alarm?) going off for a long while.

In the first room we were given, the toilet was not bolted to the floor and tipped. It also wouldn't shut off when flushed. We were moved to another room where the toilet seat was attached with only one bolt. The AC smelled musty and didn't cool the room. The room was humid all night. The mattress pads make you too hot. The fire alarm went off around 4:50 AM. False alarm. We intended to stay two nights but left after only one sleepless night. Won't stay here again.

It was in a dumpy area. An abandoned property was directly across the street. I was told when I made the reservation, there would be hot breakfast. Only breakfast available were prepackaged items you could put in the microwave. Saturday, 7am, the breakfast items were GONE! The ONLY time I saw an employee was at check in after I rang a bell. The bed was ridiculously tall and way too soft. I had 2 rooms both with 2 double beds. The toilet was extremely short. I am 5’10 and felt like I was never going to reach when sitting on it. I paid $874.00 for both rooms, I am so disappointed with the price and the hotel. I chose Sleep Inn because I have had a great stay at one in Sevierville TN in the past, I feel I should get partial refund. The cost was ridiculous for what we got. Thank you, Karen
