This is a veryold motel, not well maintained, would barely qualitify as an Econo lodge

Booked this property directly on the Choice website, primarily based on it being advertised as an "Award Winning" property. Upon arrival the property did not appear very welcoming. There were quite a few pieces of trash on the parking lot, (which I picked up the morning of my departure), poorly maintained landscape, (just rocks with the weed control screening popping up in places and a few small dead shrubs). When getting ready for bed, I noticed a single live bedbug on a pillowcase. I immediately removed all of the bedding from both beds to check for signs of other bugs, and then took the pillow to the front desk. The front desk employee offered to move me to another room, but since I felt I had thoroughly checked the beds, dresser drawers and flooring for other bugs and found none, I told him I would stay in the room. The breakfast room was small, the temperature in the room was quite warm, it appeared rather uninviting, and the breakfast items offered were not of interest. When I checked out, I thought I might be offered a discount or even a full refund for my stay, but this was not the case. Not even an apology for finding a bedbug. Very disappointing.
