Very Poor Facility!

This was my second stay at this hotel this year. First stay was in June 2025. Room did not have a privacy curtain so had to deal with the light from the poles all night long in my eyes which I was able to ignore due to being very tired. The TV controller had no batteries and the hangers were all missing! Told this all to the very nice girl at the front desk in the morning. 2nd stay 9 July 2025. It’s now tourist season so the rates are double what the stay in May was! Checked in a young man at desk was a bit annoying because he was talking with ear buds do not know if it was business or not but kept wondering if he was talking to me (need more help?) G0 to first room #152 open door and it smells like a huge ashtray! (Believe me I know I am an ex-smoker! wonder why the heck it smells so bad. Look out window and next to door coming from the pool there is an overflowing ashtray! Well guess what the AC unit is sucking in and blowing into the room! Told the guy at front desk about the issue and that they might want to take care of that issue and move or at least empty the ash tray now and again! He was happy to reassign us to room #148! After trudging back to the other end of the hotel again we go into 148 and set all of our stuff down. Go to put stuff in fridge and note it is not working! Note that the temp control knob is not there! Look and note it is plugged in! Walk to front desk and tell the guy (could not tell you his name as they have no badge of any kind!) of the issue and ask if he has some plyers so I can turn the rod with the missing knob. He looks in his drawer and said nope he will get back with me when he gets done eating his food. (Once again need more help?) Go back to room to wait and note cleaning gal in laundry room down the hall, she by chance does have a pair of plyers! Go back to room and try to adjust fried to no avail knob is already turned all the way cold (was able to turn opposite direction). Fridge is broken! Once again go back to the front desk and am assigned guess what the same room I had in May noted above. Guess what, still has no privacy curtain! At this point I say to heck with it I am to tired and put a bed spread over the curtain rod to block out the light poles. Also, not the hair dryer has been pulled out of was a couple of time and hanging there, someone does not know what an anchor is for in drywall! Also, lower bathroom door hinge is mess up not allowing bathroom door to close fully! Morning checkout, I tell nice new young man at front desk Caleb (asked his name since he also had no nametag) all of the issues. Also both ice machines were not working! He added them all to a huge list seems he had going! Kind of a long review, I have no problem paying good money even in tourist season for a good room! But I sure should not have to go through 3 rooms to find one that is still inadequate and not receive some from of compensation in either form of a refund, or additional points. I noted and got the card of the General Manager Michelle Pearson at the front desk and will be giving her a call along with Corporate.

Attention to detail was missing, ie: a bulb was burned out in bathroom, bath tube was very rusted, coffee brewer was dirty, many tv channels kept fading out, refrigerator was unplugged, swing lock on door was broken. I noticed full bags of garbage sitting at end of hall. Back of hotel had old mattresses and box springs, furniture, etc just sitting in the open. Should have been thrown in dumpsters as soon as it was removed from rooms. Breakfast was good and generous.
