Clean The person that checked us in was helpful and friendly

No one was at the front desk when we arrived. Despite a door alarm signaling our initial entrance, we still rang a bell multiple times on the front desk and no one acknowledged we were there. We waited for nearly 10min before an employee happened to come off the elevator and see us and assist us. Later, as we were leaving the hotel, I noticed another family checking in with the same predicament - no one was at the front desk. Our room door would not close properly. From the inside, it would only close completely if you turned the deadbolt. From the outside, you had to slam the door forcibly to get the lock to catch…and I’m sure our neighbors did not appreciate hearing that. A lampshade was missing on one of the wall light fixtures in our room, and it was blinding to have that light on without the shade…but it was also very dim in the room if we turned it off because some of the other lightbulbs were burnt out. Tried to call the front desk, but the room phone was not working. Walked down to the front desk to ask about a lampshade and was told that they did not have any extras. One of my children accidentally spilled a bottle of water on the bed and it soaked all the way down to the mattress cover. Asked around 9 AM if they could come and replace the bedding as we were heading out and was told housekeeping would come immediately…yet when we returned to the room at 5 PM, the bed still had not been changed and had to ask again for additional bedding. Breakfast was pitiful in comparison to most hotel continental breakfasts (especially for someone like myself who has celiac disease) and we ended up having to pay to eat elsewhere. Not a cost I’d anticipated having to incur.
