I escaped domestic violence 37 years I relocated to Eastern Iowa I went to Sioux center to collect belongings out of a storage unit. I am 56 years old I had returned to my room and was soaking in the tub after loading everything into a U-Haul alone someone knocked on my door. My dogs started barking. I could not hear who it was. I wrapped in a towel and I poked my head out the door and whoever was out there was already gone, so I called the front desk and they asked me if I was smoking. I instantly thought she was talking about cigarettes and I said no I do not smoke and she said marijuana and of course, I said no, and offered her to come up to the room immediately I threw on clothes two maids came to the door, stood there and sniffed one looked at the other and said it’s the dogs and they left. I got no apologies. I was humiliated to the point. I did not show my face out of my room, I left the next day without checking out out of humiliation. I would like to add that when I called the front desk, they said the maid smelt smoke but when I returned from unloading the storage unit, it was afternoon. There were no maids in the hall or no cleaning carts or anything that made absolutely no sense… oh, and as the maids stood at the door sniffing, I offered them to fully come into the room.

For a reasonable hotel - this place gets for high marks in all areas. room size, accommodations, cleanliness, breakfast, front desk staff and more

Price, very helpful woman who used to be the general manager but now works part time at Econo Lodge, etc.
