Dear Choice Hotels Customer Service, I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction and concern regarding my recent stay at your property. I checked into the hotel at approximately 4:00 PM, briefly inspected the room—primarily the bathroom and beds—and left shortly thereafter for my daughter’s AAU basketball tournament. Due to multiple games, we did not return until around 9:00 PM, only to briefly drop off our bags and head back out for dinner. Upon returning from dinner around midnight and settling into the room, we began to notice a strong odor. I then conducted a more thorough inspection and discovered visible mold and mildew on the ceiling, confirming that the odor was due to unsafe room conditions. As a parent traveling with an infant child, this situation was entirely unacceptable. Mold and mildew pose serious health risks, especially to young children. When I brought this issue to the attention of the night staff, I was met with rude and unhelpful behavior. I was told there were no other available rooms unless I paid an additional $50 for a suite—which is completely unacceptable given that the issue was due to the hotel’s failure to provide a clean and safe room. I requested a refund or some form of accommodation, and I was told that there was “nothing they could do.” As a loyal Choice Hotels member, I expected significantly better treatment and concern for guest safety and satisfaction.

Room had a strange odor, hair dryer cord had been cut and was unusable, and when inspecting hair dryer, bug was found coming from behind it.

Front desk clerk was ride and unprofessional. She communicated like as if I was distracting her from something more important.
