Known to locals as the city’s original alcoholic cupcake shop, Prohibition Bakery, which opened in 2011, aims to get customers tipsy one scrumptious bite at a time. The bakery offers delivery and catering throughout the Big Apple, so you don’t even have to leave your hotel room to get a taste of rum (Dark & Stormy)- or tequila (Margarita)-infused cupcakes. Five to eight cupcake flavors are baked per day, but you can always put in a preorder, 24 hours in advance, to ensure your favorites are available. Prohibition also offers custom virgin options.

Here, experience a classically Los Angeles, California, option: a plain and simple beer float. No frills necessary at Plan Check Kitchen + Bar on Fairfax, where the restaurant uses a local Pale Chocolate Heaven porter and vanilla bean ice cream to create this creamy concoction. The Golden Milk Porter Float pairs well with a burger—have fun deciding whether you’d prefer your dessert before or after dinner.
Try a polished whisky malt in Washington, D.C.
A pricier, and maybe more sophisticated, boozy dessert option can be found on Capitol Hill. If you’re looking to impress a date, friend or business partner, order this dessert drink: the Millionaire Malt, priced at $19.99, is a serious mix of vanilla ice cream, malt powder and Glenlivet 18-year-old Scotch. The cold whisky confection is available every day at Ted’s Bulletin—but only if you’re dining in; don’t even think about ordering it to go.
Dream of your next vacation with destination-inspired milkshakes
Some might say Sassafras is double the fun. At two Denver, Colorado, locations, adults can satisfy their sweet tooth and their sense of adventure. The eatery’s liquid menu (alcoholic and nonalcoholic) includes milkshakes, smoothies, cocktails, beer and wine, as well as more than a dozen (whoa!) bloody mary and mimosa options. There is definitely something for everyone, and if you stay all day, you may be tempted to try one of each. You can’t leave without sampling two milkshakes in particular: the Bourbon Street (spiced bourbon, chicory simple syrup and vanilla bean ice cream, inspired by New Orleans) and Lavender Fields (mixed wild berries, house-infused lavender gin and, again, vanilla bean ice cream) will satisfy your sense of wanderlust until your next vacation.

Although Barton G categorizes the Sabrinatini as a “signature cocktail” and not an actual dessert, we think it deserves a spot on this list because—with orange vodka, watermelon liqueur, a nitro champagne swizzle stick and a chocolate monkey garnish—this Miami Beach drink is larger than life.
