A Walk on the Waterfront

Stroll along the Promenade in the historic district for some of the best views of the Manhattan Skyline, tall ships sailing past the Statue of Liberty, South Street Seaport, and the soaring arch of the Brooklyn Bridge. Rent bikes and go for a relaxing family ride, rubbernecking at the historic 19th-century mansions of the wealthy lining the walkway. A Step Back in Time

Take a walking tour of the remarkable buildings surrounding the Promenade and the National Historic Landmark District. Brooklyn Bridge Park

Brooklyn Bridge Park, an urban renewal project, caters to children and families with riverfront paths, play areas, bike rentals and several acres of green areas that are perfect for lawn games and picnicking. The park winds along the East River, and is open year-round. Go for a ride on Jane's Carousel, and enjoy ice-skating in Brooklyn Bridge Plaza during the winter season.

Fulton Ferry Landing

At the north end of the Promenade, follow the sidewalk downhill to Fulton Ferry Landing in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge. Experience a classical performance at Bargemusic. Cool off in the interactive sprinkler at the entrance to Brooklyn Bridge Park. Catch a New York Water Taxi for a New York Harbor tour or load your bike on the East River Ferry to cross over to Manhattan. After, fuel up with plenty of casual eating options, including the legendary Grimaldi's Pizzeria, Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory and Luke's Lobster, a shack serving Maine-style lobster rolls.
