Summit the Sights
In the fall, or any time of year, you can drive through the White Mountain National Forest on the Kancamagus Scenic Byway, a 28-mile road from Conway to North Woodstock in the northern part of the state. Mount Washington, rising above the forest, is where tiny New Hampshire stands tallest—it’s the highest peak in the Northeast and the Appalachian Trail crosses the summit.
