Discover the Nation’s First National Park
Yellowstone is the No. 1 travel destination in Wyoming today. Spanning nearly 3,500 square miles in the northwest corner of the state, it sits upon an active “supervolcano,” that continues to fuel bubbling mud pots, steaming hot springs and the Old Faithful geyser today. Witness the Grandest Sights in Wyoming
Just south of Yellowstone is its beautiful next-door neighbor, Grand Teton National Park. The vast expanse of mountains has 12 peaks reaching higher than 12,000 feet above sea level and are the perfect setting for some of the best skiing in the country—especially at Jackson Hole and Snow King. Visit the National Museum of Wildlife Art just south of Jackson. Or, if you're heading east, check out the monolithic Devil’s Tower National Monument. Find Yourself in the Old Frontier
East of Yellowstone, the little town of Cody is home to what some call the “Smithsonian of the West,” at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. Head south of Grand Teton to Green River, where nearby Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area welcomes visitors with more rafting, kayaking, camping and wide-open spaces. Finally, head through cattle country and oil territory to Cheyenne, where everyone talks about Cheyenne Frontier Days. Held annually since 1919, this summer rodeo and festival is one of the best in the country.
