Sad to be disappointed
I am so disappointed to not be able to recommend this place- I was incredibly excited to check it out! And while there were a few amazing elements (!), we ended up nearly leaving in the middle of the night.
Positives: absolutely charming, beautiful aesthetic upgrades, thoughtful amenities included, and wonderful support from the front desk when we first checked in. I was absolutely ready to rave about this charming little find!
Unfortunately, our room was so, so, so hot… we tried ramping up the AC and leaving the room for a few hours, but it was still at least 80 degrees when we returned. And, somehow, it just kept getting hotter overnight! It was so hot I couldn’t sleep. I was at the hotel for about 16 hours total and took 3 separate showers with the water set as cold as it could go to try and cool off. I went down to the front desk 3 separate times looking for resolution, or even explanation. At 3:30a the clerk at least acknowledged they were having an issue with the air.. but they weren’t able to fix it. Around 6a when I spoke to someone, he didn’t seem surprised to hear that our room was unacceptably hot and mentioned that some of the rooms run that way.
So.. as lovely as everything looked, I absolutely cannot recommend anyone stay here. They have known and significant HVAC issues and rent out rooms that they can’t cool to below 80 degrees. :(

Peeling wall paper on the ceiling. At 8:15 am we were awakened by loud drilling noises. When we came down to the lobby, the worker was still there. Next time, we’ll go to the Nassau Inn.
